Mark Mappa is Founder, President, and Managing Principal at Mappa Wealth Management. He has over 27 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management. Mark specializes in developing long term financial plans to assist individuals and families in meeting their lifelong financial goals and objectives. Mark also specializes in retirement distribution planning by helping clients manage their assets and income needs during their retirement years.

As an independent financial advisor, Mark is able to provide objective advice that is tailored to meet each client's specific and individualized situation. Everyone's situation is different and Mark understands that everyone will need a different strategy to meet their goals.

Mark's years of experience as an independent advisor has led to a philosophy and perspective about financial planning that he incorporates in the strategies he develops for each of his clients. Mark has a Master of Science Degree in Financial Services (MSFS) and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Registered Financial Consultant (RFC), Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), Certified Estate and Trust Specialist (CES), and Certified Income Specialist (CIS) designations.

Mark has been a guest speaker on the television show The Stock Market Observer and has written numerous articles on financial planning. Mark is currently writing a book about what he has learned and experienced in his 27 years in the financial industry.

Mark and his wife Rachel and have three children, Zackary (attending Purdue University), Tanner (attending Stevenson High School), and Sophie (who is 9 years old). Mark enjoys reading books on financial topics. He also enjoys sports, corvettes, vacationing, and spending time and swimming at their Florida home.

Steve Wilhusen

Steve Wilhusen is a financial advisor with over 17 years experience. As an independent financial professional, he provides advice that is objective and in his clients best interests. He helps individuals, families and business owners define and meet their lifelong financial goals.

Steve does this through a philosophy of independent advice, highly personal service and a commitment to ethical practices. His skills and experience include developing and implementing savings, investment and insurance planning as well as retirement distribution strategies.

Steve is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) as well as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He frequently gives educational seminars on financial planning. He graduated from Truman State University in 2000 with degrees in Finance and Management and he minored in Economics. He was a member of Blue Key honor and service fraternity and the University Soccer Team.

Steve is a proud Bulldog owner and amateur chef, sports enthusiast, fitness and health geek, travel and adventure seeker.


Brett W. Gardiner

Brett Gardiner is an independent financial advisor whose goal is to help individuals, families and small business owners define and realize their financial dreams. He has over twenty-five years of professional experience, twelve of which have been in the financial services industry. As a financial advisor, he provides advice that is objective, independent and client-centered.

Through his twelve years of financial product and resource distribution, Brett has gained a truly unique perspective on industry best practices and brings that knowledge and confidence to his clients.

Brett understands that through trust, education, communication and superior customer service, he and his team can help you have confidence in your investments. He is a 1991 graduate of Indiana University and holds the following licenses: FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63, and is Illinois insurance-licensed.

Brett and his wife, Laura, grew up on the North Shore of Chicago and have four children. He plays an active role in their education, athletic and theatrical activities.

Brett is an Eagle Scout and a five-time Ironman Triathlete. He brings that same commitment and discipline to his work with his clients.


Steven B. Tucker

Steve Tucker has over 25-years helping clients define and reach their financial goals. He specializes in investment, income, insurance and estate planning and understands that an important aspect of his role is to listen carefully to his clients and then design a custom strategy that meets their level of comfort and helps them meet their objectives.

Steve helps his clients grow and protect their assets for use during their lifetimes through retirement, as well as creating a transition plan for the next generation or for charities. "My clients and I take special care to grow and protect their money. I want to help them make sure it is not dramatically diminished by taxes, fees, or unforeseen healthcare costs."

Steve has appeared on PBS television speaking on numerous estate planning topics including the importance of addressing the risk of a long-term care illness and the impact it may have on the estate. He is a frequent speaker for non-profit organizations. His articles on areas vital to estate planning have been published in several media formats, including the Peoria Journal Star Newspaper, and Fondulac Senior Services Newspaper.

Steve has been married for 22 years. He and Mary live in Champaign, IL with their two children. Their 15 year old son, Tyler, loves to play tennis, dive, and golf. He is a Freshman at Centennial High. Their 8 year old daughter, Allie, loves gymnastics, golf and swimming. Steve enjoys spending time with his family, playing ice hockey, golfing, and traveling. Mary enjoys tennis, reading, golf, and taking trips with her family.

Tanya is a key figure in providing the highly personalized service and professionalism you have come to expect from our firm. She is responsible for the quality of care each client receives and deserves.

Tanya has over nine years experience in the financial services industry in administration and is fully licensed for insurance planning. One of her great strengths is the enjoyment she gets from working with people like you to help them reach their financial goals. As both a professional and a mother she understands the importance of financial planning especially retirement planning and college savings.


She works closely with Mark Mappa and is in charge of account management, ensuring that your questions, requests and possible problems are handled promptly and efficiently. Tanya is also in charge of our firms communication with clients, including organizing seminars, updating the website and handling our firm newsletter. In addition, she oversees the organization of quarterly financial reports, the distribution of all firm information and important notices, and that all documents, applications and forms are properly and securely rendered in a timely manner.

We pride ourselves on our strong relationship with our clients and Tanya's efforts are a large part of those relationships.

Tanya has three daughters, Sydney, Natasha and Lilian. She is involved in school activities and is an assistant coach and Board member for Natasha's travel softball team. When not working, she and her family love hiking, the outdoors, live music, sports and spending time at their Florida getaway.

Administrative Assistant

Brook is a crucial element in Mappa Wealth Managements commitment to highly personalized service and professionalism. An important part of her job is to make sure that each of our clients is treated as we would like to be treated.

She developed her skills working as an administrator and paralegal for various offices and her familys oil and gas business. At Mappa Wealth Management she helps make sure all documents, applications and forms are properly and securely rendered in a timely manner and that your questions and requests are handled promptly and to your satisfaction.

Brook has three sons and a daughter and she enjoys spending time with her large extended family. A committed community volunteer, she volunteers at Bernies Books (an organization that collects and distributes books to children in the inner city)

Barry Stuart Levy

Barry Levy brings a diverse background to his consulting clients that provides them with a unique view on the challenges that affect their business.

Barry was an actor for a number of years before building an extremely successful advertising agency and marketing consulting firm in New York City with clients in the consumer electronics and financial industries. He subsequently became a consultant to financial services firms.

At Mappa Wealth Management he works with the firm’s principal and team on marketing, best practices, client service and relationships. The continuing goal is to make Mappa Wealth Management a leader in providing its clients with the best in personal service.

Barry is also a professional magician and started the non-profit Magic Street to teach magic to severely learning disabled and emotionally challenged children. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina.

Kevin is an active member of community chambers, as well as NISIA (Northern Illinois Strategic Insurance Alliance) and SHRP (Society of Human Resources Professionals). He also serves as board president for both church and local association. Kevin lives in the Evanston area with his wife, Kathy, and their three children, Garrett, Conor and Drake.

He is a graduate of Illinois State University and is currently licensed in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin to sell property, casualty, health and life insurance.
